What do you expect a late postion limp/call to hold?

Cash NLHE, or early in a tourney where the blinds are low relative to stack sizes. You're in the blinds, one late position limper. Do you make the assumption this is a weak hand and a relatively weak player?


If so, assume you raise, and the limper calls. What do you expect as his most likely holdings?

- A-small?
- small pair?
- connectors?
- gapped big cards?

I'm trying to gather what flops are likely to have hit him. Any scary flops I think I'm betting to represent a big hand, but if A-small is his most likely holding, he may not fold to an Ace on the flop.

A lot depends on the limits.stakes you're talking abour; A late position limp can mean anything - connectors, suited A-rag, small pps, a relatively inexperienced player with a monster. I usually figure it for a weak ace or king, or connectors of some kind; ie, a hand hoping to hit and improve.
