Like I should shove weaker hands, or fold them?
In late position (which most of the blind steals happen) it all depends on the blinds calling range. You have to construct them yourself.Lets say BB has you covered 4k to your 1.7k 6 left he has been calling with what seems to be atc.You are dealt QJo on the BTN blinds 75/150 you ??????????
Should shove till your hearts content....

Why would you be tired of donks?

Lol. You're going to find donks a plenty at 2nl as well, but stick with it and it should be very profitable.

Also, you mentioned you're tired of 5-6BI downswings in SNGs. Swings of 5-6BI are standard in cash games too, so be prepared for that

Topic. I've had enough with seeing people donk up in SnG's and wanna try my hand at cash tables for a while. What should I start at? 1-2nl? 2-4nl?
IMHO, the micros are not much better when it comes to donks but if this is the direction you're going then 2nl is what you should play.

I'm trying, but having downswings of 5 or 6 BI's in SnG's because of suckouts doesn't help. And yeah, they are suckouts. I've made a few questionable plays, but I almost always get my money in good. But when all the cards fell against you...
.....pick yourself up and keep playing.

As said previously you arent getting your money nearly enough if you almost always get your money in good. There are situations in these games where you MUST go all in with weak hands.

In that range I shove with AK, AQ, AJ or A10 if its suited, KQ suited QJ suited, J10 suited (favorite hand), and any pair that's 8's or higher. That's my general range in yellowM.

That range is far too tight, you are missing out on profitable situations by only playing these hands and you are leaving yourself open to be blinded down waiting for these cards. You must play against the player a lot of the time in later stages of sngs and forget about your cards, If I think I could get someone to fold their blind when I have 72o I will shove it. Obv if youre called its bad news but thats why you need to pay attention to how light someone will call your shove. Stack sizes are also hugely important late in sngs as you dont want to shove light vs a big stack who calls light or a shortie who needs to accumulate chips ugently and is willing to take a chance.
Its best to post hands in the forum and get the players here to critique your plays as this will be the best way to learn imo. even reading other people hand histories and seeing how people think they should have played the hand I find very helpful, it may help you in situations that you have never come accross before and thus you are better prepared when you do find yourself in the same spot.

The problem is the RNG. What good is making profitable decisions if you still lose by the river even when you have the best hand preflop or postflop? I'm really getting sick of Merge, it just seems like the worst hand ALWAYS wins a showdown, even when dominated.

How do you do that in super turbos when everyone starts with only 10bb and blinds advance every 3 minutes? (not talking cash games here)

That was me being snide
You start a thread.
You learn you have massive leaks in your game.
Then you blame losing on RNG
Did you read any hands in the HA section?
Have you posted any hands in the HA section

I embrace variance. I like lots of preflop action. What I don't like is frequent suckouts.

You do not embrace variance, if you did you would not complain about suckouts.
If you understood varience you would understand that suckouts are part of the game of poker

When a donkey calls with an inferior hand and wins, I'm gonna be mad. That's the way it is.

I think it's REASONABLE that I should get angry at bad beats.
Do you get mad at the weather? Do you rant if it's raining when you wanted to do something outside? My kid does. He's 2. I'm hoping at some point in time he'll realize how pointless it is and stop. Maybe you will too.

Here's another pro tip: Poker without suckouts would SUCK!
