It depends who calls. If you raise from cutoff and BB calls then you are in position as you are last to act. If instead the button calls then you are out of position

ok thanks, so its still pretty safe in micros to 3bet with my holdings of qq and jj and ak in cutoff as well as dealer button- im gonna go ahead and asume. cheers!🙂

The player who acts last on flop, turn and river is "in position" where all other players in the hand not acting last are "out of position".
If there are more than two players in a hand, you can have position (be "in position") against the players who have to act before you and "out of position" against the players acting after you.
Being last to act has a lot of benefits so you want to have position as often as possible.

You can be in position even if you're the BB against the SB after the flop. Depends of the situation you're in
