I am getting better at this style of play. Daniel Negreanu says to bet anything hand with "potential" To me that means anything connecting, gappers, suited cards. My question to you is in tournement play in the early stages, should i play small ball only with premium cards?

Thanks

not only premium cards but the same connectors 1 gappers and suited connecters
theearly stages are very tight periods so u can build up a nice stack just by being aggressive

I think small ball is overall a good strategy, however I don't think the early stages of an MTT are times to use it. Generally it's very tight and while that's true that you can take down a lot of tiny pots pre-flop and with C-bets, it's not worth it for the little blinds.

In a six-max cash game, however, I'm smallballing all day ;)

It's weird actually 'cos full ring + tourneys I'm a complete nit but shorthanded I'm loosey-goosey.
