deuce did you get some ass? If not, there is always a trip to cali to see tyler. Of course you might have to switch to Catholicism in order to have sex with 13 year old boys( that drink gingerbread lattes).

1. I know reading comprehension isn't a strong point in Alabama, but if you'd like to scroll up again, you can see that I very well could have, alas deciding to stay faithful

2. I would do a great many things to marry tyler's sister, but drinking gingerbread latte's is not one of them

It's actually really good news overall, the top up thing aside which will probably be sorted.

A proper regulated market so we're much safer than before with some player protections for those that need them, a Black Friday event seems an impossibility here now. International player pool locked in. No real player restrictions and a liberal, open market (don't need a brick and mortar to get a licence).

A tax that will lead to a small hit in rewards but still allows players and companies to make a profit in a healthy market and will likely show other countries (.IT/ES/FR/DK) how much money can be made by going the UK way of joining an international player pool with reasonable taxation. From what I've read the tax is leveraged on net rake, VIP rewards are deducted, which is great for us as it reduces pokerstars' tax burden and will lead to less than the tax reductions in our VIP rewards.

All with tax free winnings remaining on our end. It's a 15% point of consumption tax liable to PS which will lead to reduced rewards. Kind of like a sales tax, VAT. And in the liberal gambling environment of the UK. It's debatable that the tax hit is actually worth the new security and regulation. I'd say it is but obviously everyone would prefer no tax and all the benefits :)

Pretty damn good.

I think the lengthy, open to all and transparent consultation process shows our country in a great light too. Anyone could and did get involved and helped form legislation with our voices listened to and our efforts rewarded in making something that works for everyone including the government (cough, America, cough). Makes me a little proud tbh.

I realise I said Pokerstars a lot, obviously the legislation covers everyone who wants to offer gambling services to UK residents. Some have left the market because of it, most are doing what PS is: a new, separate client with the same player pool, which allows them to separate tax liabilities and offer different rewards based on that tax rate. This is where other EU countries could copy the UK instead of the .fr route.

it a lot easier to get everyone's voice heard/pass legislation in a country of 40 milly compared to 360 million, just saying. Our size is what roadblocks tons of federal legislation and the fact that we have an infinite amount of different geographical areas.

Bravo UK though, maybe were up next :)

Meh not a single us state has gone international player pool. Nj is smaller than the UK right? Yet they still insist on protectionist policies that don't let their residents gamble on international sites.

I hear Negreanu is Grinding 200nl, presumably this is practice for the 5knl propbet/challenge. Maybe we will actually get to see him do it?

Closer to 65 but I get your point. We're about equivalent to the American Midwest (there's your interesting fact of the day) but obviously way less diverse and more centralised. It was more a comment on what seems like laws made by and for businesses rather than voters, the b&m requirement is bullshit.

But yeah hopefully it inspires other countries to follow suit.

It'll be interesting to see how much of the 15% hit PS absorb, if any at all.

Considering rakeback rewards maybe total 25-30% on average, obv more for grinders. That would be a huge hit if PS took 15% of that out leaving their incentive system, for recreational players mostly, would be almost pointless. They have always seemed quite reasonable as a company, so maybe they will split the tax.

As far as I'm aware they aren't increasing rake at all so that is a big plus in my book. Stars are pretty active in engaging with the community and are aware of how bitchy US poker players get when changes get made that affect us adversely. I have faith that it will be a pretty balanced system where we don't get hit with the brunt of it - if they were going to shaft us the first thing that would happen is increased rake.

I've heard about half. Denmark did a 20% tax and I think the hit was about half but don't quote me. Remember that the tax is against net rake after VIP rewards/rb so that should help limit it's effect.
