I just like 9! I used to like the old 10 player Sit n goes on Willian Hill many years ago too! With 6 max I just find I feel like I need to play more, then get myself in a mess! Haha

I prefer 9 seat over 6 seat because the blinds come so fast on a 6 seat.

For touranaments I like to play 9-max because I usually play more tight and for cash games 6-max because I play more aggressively.

6 to 8 players is the number i feel more comfortable playing. however 9 player tables are better when you are multitabling ( more than 4 tables at once)

I love 10-10-10 for online games, 888 used to have 10 player MTTs. 10 players per table, 10 minute blinds, 10 dollars buy-in - that's what I would love to play all the time, and would prefer 1 in 10 in the money with a cap of 1K players per tourney.

I stick with the "traditional model" (9 max), I prefer this option to work the moves, now if you want "more" action, people tend to be "less patient" at 6 max (which is an option I use when I want to play more aggressively)

6 max needs to be played more aggressively, but that's not my style

Assuming you’re asking about cash games - definitely 6-max.

6 is preferred for tournaments too, just really hard to find.

I can say with confidence that the optimal number of players at the table is exactly 1 person. And that person will be me. At the very end of the game. Everything else is secondary.
