Nope. You have to always use two cards from your hand and 3 from the board.

So say you are holding As, and there's 4 spades on the board you wouldn't have an ace high flush as another example.

It's a common mistake people make when first learning the game. No worries. :)

Ya, as Coolnout said, you have to use 2 cards from your hand so you would be using JT for 2 pair 9s and Ts with a J kicker so your best hand would be 33 for the full house!

If you are learning the game I suggest you play the play chip games at Stars. In these games you can see what hands you have and get a good idea for which hands win a lot. This is no way to learn PLO mind you but it is a way to learn the hands while not risking any money.

If you have stars I would say load up a 240 man SnG and play one of those. You will see a lot of action in theese as well as you learn. If you mange to make it to the top 30 or so you will actually see some decent play too.

As posted above, you must use two cards from your four.

Did you see why dinar437 had a much better hand than yours? Nut str8 and flush draw. To be honest the three 9's probably had him worried. Only way I see you taking this down would be betting the pot and making him wonder if you had a 9 for the nuts or if you were slow playing AA, KK, QQ... But since you didn't raise pre-flop this bluff probably wouldn't have worked.
