The freerolls at FT are not that tough, the only tough part is sticking with them long enough because it usually takes about 5 hours before there is money to be won. So fighting off boredom and not making stupid calls because of being anxious is the biggest problem with them. On the flipside the turbo freeroll moves to fast to establish anything and basically forces a player to be constantly aggressive.

How hard would you say the hourly full tilt freerolls are?

Whenever someone refers to the Fergusson Challenge, people often say save yourself a few weeks/months and just deposit five dollars... However, I never seem to have trouble cashing in the full tilt freerolls, and have cashed several times (typically a few times a week when i've had time), as well as took first in one of them, and I have only been playing on full tilt for about a month and a half. (i played on pokerstars before - i never had trouble cashing in their freerolls either, I just ran out of patience for spending 4 hours for a ticket and another 4 for the round 2)

So what do you all think of the Full tilt freerolls? Am i a good player for being able to cash in the freerolls, or are they a completely unrealisitc gage for skill?

I personally hate full tilt freerolls. WASTE of time and no real reward.

ive cashed multiple times in freerolls. i dont think they are that bad if you are not willing to deposit and dont mind taking the 4.5 hours to play a good solid trny. but...

i cashed in 7th in a freeroll last night for 4$. lost a dollar in a 1.25 SnG. went to sleep. woke up and been playing. anyways im up to 36$ now from nothing.

so if your trying to get something for nothing then yes. they are worth it.

ill be moving up to 2$ sngs tomorrow and hopefully reach 200 before tomorrow night.

unrealistic in terms of skill and play. freerolls are not good tournaments and dont show a lot of skill. if you can play some of the real money tournaments and plce consistently then its different...

You Got To Have All The Patience IN The World In One Of These Cuz you never know whats cards are gonna be played in the early stages.oh n I guess you also have to clear 6 hours of outta your daily schedule if you even wanna cash in it.

The "One on one with Antonio's" take a little over an hour to complete.

I think the biggest problem is that i see a trend in free rolls in general of the bigger stacks being able to bet with almost any hand and end up hitting on the river to knock out the smaller stacks who were playing quality hands to try to double through the big stacks.

This is just on the topic of free rolls, but in the cardschat free roll on full tilt today there is a guy with a green triangle beside his name. It says that the guy is a loser. (lol). Is that something that was done by cardschat?

If you cannot deposit any money than the only option are the freerolls - Unfortunately the 2700 people is just too much for me ... it takes too long and you lose AA to 10 4 as written above somewhere...
Can't wait for the CC freeroll today - Hope to get some money in order to be able to play in the larger SNG

Normaly I think its a waste of time, cause of all the donks especially in the first hour .
However i'm glad that there are these freerolls at FT where you can win some cash even if your BR is zero.
There are other sites where you don't have this oppertunity e.g. Everest, where you have to have at least some summit pionts to enter.
(Sorry for my bad English)

I may be able to help

I have won the horse freeroll a couple of times and the final table on the razz fr a few also. The main time is the beginning trying to get the donks out and then I found that I rachet back to only quality hands and hope for big pots. I don't play nlhe well so can't help there.

ive played quite a few full tilt freerolls..

ive played many full tilt freerolls, some private and some the public 2700 ones, and i gota say the private ones are the way to go. The full tilt ones with 2700 ppl are just not good, because for one thing half the ppl are total idiots, and myself i cant handle being busted out by some guy who goes all in with 9,5 off suit with nothing after the flop and ends up catchin a lucky ass river...

The private ones with say, 300 ppl on average, are good competitve tourneys that are easier to cash in, even tho the players are more serious. However it is true wat was mentioned before that it takes a long time to make a dollar lol...

but its ight cause it adds up and builds ur bankroll if u cash in enough of em....

The key to freerolls is probably the amount of people playing.

The more people the harder it is, and the longer it takes to get something out of it.

I'd say being able to place in the top 1 percent out of 2700 players is a good accomplishment. It doesn't necessarily make you an expert, but it's good enough. I've found myself going all in on the first hand more and more with the turbo freerolls, satellites and Final Table DVD freerolls. Those are just lottery poker. The regular no-limit hold 'em $100 freeroll is a fun tournament, but they sure do take a long time for only a buck or two. lol

I've placed second in one and then went on to blow it away on their $1 SnG. I think the action in the Freeroll was the same in the $1SnG. Bad players and a lot of suck-outs.

I personally like the challenge of building a bankroll from zero, and the fun of playing on the house's money. I'm playing in my 3rd freeroll at tilt and have made the money!

Getting rich out of Poker is more of a dream less a reality for me. I play mostly for fun, so saying that sitting for a few hours just to win a buck or two is a waste of time is like saying you wont ever "pay" for fun (e.g. going to the movies)

Even when playing live, I never 'gamble' - I pay to play and have fun - Its even more fun if you win it back or even profit but no big deal if you lose. No one thinks of going to a club or the movies as money lose but as paying for fun - Should be the same case here in Poker!

The 2700 freeroll is a hard challenge due to the amount of people and donks. Its amazingly hard to finish in the top 1% but its doable. My record is currently finishing 105th I think :)

Patience is definately the key. I play int he African freeroll every night and you'll spend at least 2 hours to win 2 dollars. Thats out of +/- 90 players!!!!!

I can't say that FTP freeroll are that hard... You will just need a lot of patience coz there really is huge amount of players that really don't care about theyr stacks so they could pay ure bets with anything. But when u think about if its good way to earn money ... lol. Play tourney for 6 hours to win $2 and u could just spend 6 hours at work to earn way more money.

Poker evolution. Your evolution. In time you will evolve out of the Freeroll stage. It has happened countless time before. Conventional wisdom will suggest that after the initial freeroll stages, like maybe the first hour, the game will be approximately equivalent to a $5-10 MTT. But the payoff is so much less in a freeroll.

Playing freerolls doesn't make sense from a $/hour standpoint, but there's something exciting about never having to deposit one cent.

It's my goal to make an initial online bankroll by winning freeroll poker tournaments and go on to amass several hundred thousand dollars in winnings.

I think that freeroll are very difficult to win i've been trying to cash in a freeroll tournament in full tilt poker but it's easier to cash in full tilt poker than pokerstars lol. I came close to cashing in a full tilt poker free roll tournament. actually only 9 people awway from cashing.
