donks vs buyin

At what level of buyins do the donks thin out? I like to think that I am above avg player. Rarely is my money allin without the best hand at the time. The villians always seem to catch the miracle card to beat me on the river. I realize that freerolls are full people just having fun. The $5 dollar tourneys don't seem much better.
Also can you really judge your abilities when its just a luckfest?

Just becase someone has money, and can afford the larger buy-ins, does not mean they are any more skilled or smarter.
