Going to be playing tomorrow night because I'm off work 1/2. Also depending on how Friday goes may see if there are any good spots at the 2-5 tables. They have had two or three 5-10 tables and five to seven 2-5 tables on Saturday nights. We will see how Friday goes first though.

I have actually played the 2-5 game at this casino before and some of the same regulars are still around. I have a pretty good idea how it plays but it's more for just seeing where I'm at in my progression. Also to gage my levels because 1/2 is very rarely more than level 1 thinking unless I get in a hand with a good regular.

Any thoughts?

Obviously this is going to depend on a room to room basis, but the bigger skill gap happens from 2-5 5-10, there are plenty of poor players playing 2-5.

Yeah I think I'm going to continue to go back and forth from 1-2 to 2-5 depending on games. I only made $200 at 2-5 in 5 hours was card dead most of the night. Then when I went to play 1-2 I was a lot more aggressive naturally and was getting more value out of my hands. I ended up making $500 in 3 hours at 1-2. So I can understand why I shouldn't just play 2-5 but I can see how this can be beneficial.

I'm obv not familiar with the games in your area but the 2/5 games here can be pretty awful most of the time. The only time I play it is if it looks really good, which is barely ever (I've played it twice Fall 2015). Best to use your judgment and game select accordingly.

On an unrelated note, I was looking at Bravo for Horseshoe CIN this weekend because I'm going to be down there for a weekend at the end of April. I noticed it runs 1/2 with $50-200 BI rather than 1/3. How are the games in terms of stack depth? Here in Cleveland before they shifted to 1/3 the 1/2 games were basically unplayable because of the rampant min-buyers and total lack of money on the tables. Do people in CIN tend to buy in max?

Typically at 1/2 everyone buys in the Max but at 2-5 I noticed some buy 300-500 max range. Some players play 1-2 and if they get up to 300-400 they'll take a shot at 2-5.. There's usually close 9 tables of 1-2 most buy max though or at least 100..
