Cash games and tournament games have different skill sets. In both games a flush is still a flush, but preflop and post flop play requires a lot more decisions to decide on. For example cash games considers EV. Tournaments you look at ICM more.
I like cash games mainly for the purpose that I can leave at any time I want. I do not usually have the time to play long deep tournaments all day. I also do not like the "hyper" style tournaments where you go in push or fold mode too quickly. It reduces some of the edge and it starts to become pure mathematics instead of poker techniques and tricks.
