Paying attention. Good play on my part?

(I hope this is the right place for this.)

I hand seen the villian make few plays like this before.

full tilt poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 6 Players -
(LegoPoker - Free Tools for Online Poker PlayersHand History Converter - LegoPoker - Free Tools for Online Poker Players)

SB: $10.85
Villian: $11.30
Hero (UTG): $14.50
MP: $3.60
CO: $7.00
BTN: $8.90

Preflop: Hero is dealt Td 4s (6 Players)
Hero folds, MP calls $0.10, 2 folds, SB calls $0.05, Villian raises to $0.70, MP calls $0.60, SB folds

Flop: ($1.50) 8s Kc 4d (2 Players)
Villian checks, MP checks

Turn: ($1.50) Qc (2 Players)
Villian bets $1.00, MP calls $1.00

River: ($3.50) 5c (2 Players)
Villian bets $3.50, MP calls all-in for $1.90

Uncalled bet of $1.60 returned to Villian

Pot Size: $7.30 ($0.70 Rake)
MP had Ac Qd (a pair of Queens) and WON (+$3.00)
Villian had 3s 8d ([3s 8d] a pair of Eights) and LOST (-$3.60)
---------------------------------------------------------

So, when this hand came up shortly after I thought he was making a similar play.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 6 Players -
(LegoPoker - Free Tools for Online Poker PlayersHand History Converter - LegoPoker - Free Tools for Online Poker Players)

Hero (SB): $15.25
BB: $6.50
UTG: $7.00
MP: $8.90
CO: $10.75
Villian: $6.90

Preflop: Hero is dealt 4h Ah (6 Players)
3 folds, Villian raises to $0.35, Hero calls $0.30, BB folds

Flop: ($0.80) Kh Ac 8c (2 Players)
Hero checks, Villian bets $0.60, Hero calls $0.60

Turn: ($2) Jd (2 Players)
Hero checks, Villian bets $2.00, Hero calls $2.00

River: ($6) 6c (2 Players)
Hero checks, Villian bets all-in for $3.95, Hero calls $3.95

Pot Size: $13.90 ($1.35 Rake)
Villian had 7h Qd ([7h Qd] Ace King high) and LOST (-$6.90)
Hero had 4h Ah (a pair of Aces) and WON (+$5.65)

He had made the exact same play in very similar situations, but my question is, even if I had an idea of how the villian was playing was my calling down justified?
I was 100% positive I had the best hand and wanted the villian to keep betting into me, but if the villian had a better Ace, I was done but for. So, was the call down okay or
should I have raised on either the flop or turn to see where I was at?

...so you weren't %100 sure then?

Calling down is fine if you know you're most probably ahead. You actually don't want to raise because then we're convincing him we have a hand good enough that he can't bluff us off it, and he'll shut down. Against maniacs like this, playing tight-passive and calling down a lot of hands is the way to go.

Just be careful vs the types that mix up their play and do the same betting with their strong hands. You won't get many of these types at 10nl, but it's still worth noting.
