I feel I completely botched this hand. Where should I find the raise? I should 3-bet preflop, really. I think I had some weird idea about playing it for set value when I perhaps should attempt to trap dead money in the pot as well as playing for fold equity on later streets.

ye you definatly missed a bet on the river, villain probably thinks you are both playing the board so will call the bet. Val bet is a must here
