And now to attempt to be aggressive instead. My opponent has shown tendencies of overplaying hands before. Still, is the river raise too much?

not at all imo.

Unless he's unusually passive, his line definitely doesn't spell a bigger 2 pair to me, though I've actually seen people soft play A2 and similar hands similarly. std imo.

Naw, your reads are usually good on the table. If he had the better hand he would definitely bet into you. Take his money and run.
