I say nothing you can do there. I would have no reason to believe my FH is losing and I would get all my chips in the middle a soon as possible. I think you just got unlucky.

At the 2nd K (turn) anything is possible. Slow down.

dinghy's against battleships................even Naval Rules cover this one, the bigger boat has the right-of-way.

only problem is that the only hand which would scare you is k7, and to a very small extent kq. HU I say you call, get the 8 on the river and then raise having only 2 real hands that scare you k7 and k8 which you dont normall put someone on. Just bad luck here

I don't think you have any way to avoid this result, SM. What I would've done different is raise his turn bet, but just for value, to make the pot bigger, not to make him fold. He certainly would have called it, and result would be the same.

He called your preflop raise, so its hard to put him on K7 or K8. On the river, although its hard, KQ was a possibility so after he raised your reraise, maybe you could have just smooth called. But I don't see how you could possibly escape this, it would've been a candidate for "laydown of the century".

Tough loss, better luck next time.

I would bet more on the flop. You raised it to .85 preflop and then bet .75 after the flop. Your opponent senses weakness with this move. A bet of around the pot. Top pair, medicore kicker is not a good call with a pot sized bet.

ok

After the second K came, I was hoping that he had made the set.

just so you know he would of had trips not a set, no big deal but just letting you know so you can have terminolgy correct.

set is when you hole pocket pair like your QQ and have 1 on board.

trips is holding 1 and 2 on board.

as for hand, slow down? screw that. You are going broke hear bottom line. The K is a great card for you actully because it make it pretty much impossible at least at this limit for them to fold the K. Bottom line you just got unlucky.

although I do agree with you I dont agree with your reasoning.

why do we want him to fold, i would love for him to sense weakness!!!!

by the way at this level I dont think the average low limit player can sense anything. He was going to pay you off with top pair regardless, players at this level can not lay down any pair let alone top pair.

I dont mind the .75 though it looks like a blocking bet and you might get played back at more. It looks like hey I have AQ and I just missed the flop so please just fold to my continuation bet. Or hey I have JJ and the K scares me please just fold. More often then not those 3/4 blocking bets work both ways, those people that just smash the pot bet button and dont think about what they are betting are ones you can take advantage of. You shoulld have a reason why you are betting a certain amount.

Wow, tough break, I know that there is no way that I dont go broke on this hand. Only thing I can think of is to raise it higher preflop, I usually raise atleast 4x or 5x the BB at 25NL and 10NL with high pocket pairs like that, I dont play too many 6-handed tables though, so maybe I would think differently.

I don't mean any offense, but I also disagree with this. When you flop a set 1st thing you do is look at opponents stack and figure a way to get all of it, you don't want him to fold, why would you? Your flop bet has to be big enough to make draws unprofitable, but small enough to reel him in. The bet should be 1/2 pot, looking like a c-bet, and you cross your fingers and pray that he calls it. You're now on your way. The only thing I didn't like was the smooth call on the turn, not because it would have saved him, result would've been the same, but you just made a FH and he bet into you, you MUST raise there, build the pot, make it bigger, and try to get him committed.

It was really hard here to think he made a better FH, it was just too improbable, that's why I said it would've been the "laydown of the century" in my 1st post. You almost have to be retarded to lay this down. Man its crazy.
