Blocking bet on the river

Ok. Check this out. No specific reads for the opponent. Not a huge pot either. I just try to find out my mistakes and i think that i did one in this hand. I think i should have bet something about 3$ blocking bet on the river, not to allow what happened to happen. If he had raised me then, I could have easily folded my hand down. Any thoughts from experienced members?

I wouldve re-raised on the flop to see where everyone was at. Then bet again on the turn when the second 5 came out. Only hand I can see calling you at this point is a better K. On the river, a straight card came out-unlikely it helped your opponent, but if you had been called up to this point. I would slow down and go into check/call mode.
