I get these situations all the time it seems with mid/low pocket pairs out of position and i'm never comfortable with how they work out.

So, in this case Villian is 17/10/3 over only 30 hands.

Fold to Cbet is irrelevant with so little hands.

Should i double barrell the turn or should i have checked the flop and give up the initiative in the hand so early?

His turn bet after i check seems weak so I guess raising is an option here but what i I get called?

Or is it just a fold and move on?

Folding is fine. Once you have a ton of hands on a player you can start adjusting and trying fancy plays, but against an unknown you got to give up, imo. There's really very little that you beat at this stage.
