Why do you think he is floating? Isnt the definition of a float to call the cbet on flop and take the pot down on the turn by him making the donk bet?

Not necessarily. It just means calling a bet with air, expecting the villain to slow down on a later street, where we can take it down. In this example, since the villain is in position, if he were floating, he would bet the turn if checked to, and fold his air. This is the most common situation for floating imo.

For a floater OOP, I would expect him to check, and if there is a check behind, he will fire the river (this is a much less favorable line than the one above). I suppose a villain could donk the turn after floating if some sort of scare card peeled off, but he would probably rather see weakness first, or try for a c/r on the flop to try to take it down right there.
