$5 NL HE Full Ring: Turned low Boat, best line?
Context: I've been playing against this player for a while, and have garnered that he's a smart player, playing mostly ABC poker. I have pocket 7s in MP and decide to come in for a raise with one limper behind. This smart player directly to my left smoothcalls, which tells me he has some kind of a hand (AK-AJ, possibly a mid to high pocket pair, or even suited connectors).
I flop a set on a two-toned board, and decide I'm not letting anyone catch up with either a flush or a straight draw. Again, the smart player smoothcalls, which tells me he's either on a flush draw, doesn't believe me, or has paired a Queen.
The turn comes another queen, which is great for me as it gives me a boat, and possible makes my villain's set. Since I've shown aggression so far and have gotten played back at, I figure I'm going to continue betting at the pot (I've fired second barrels before, so he's probably going to be suspicious if I check), so I fire a 1/3 pot bet (feel free to make suggestions on this move as well, as I recognize a slowplay check could be a better line...). This time, he comes back over the top of me for 1/2 his stack, which tells me he probably has landed trip queens, or again thinks I'm bluffing, or could even be semi-bluffing his flush draw. Now I'm just thinking, call or shove?
Do you think I'm better off calling, and then shoving him on any river card? Would I be risking seeing an A, K or J and getting frozen by the possibility of a better boat if I suspect he has AQ or KQ or QJ? If I shove am I giving up potential value given that he'd probably be committed to call on almost any river card? Many thanks for your thoughts, the hand is below! Best of luck out there
