You announce your action as though it is a question. If you don't know why you did it, it was probably the wrong decision. Act intentionally.

I like your bet on the flop. Would have check/folded the turn. Once you got to the river, you've got to make that call simply because it is a minimal bet into a pot you've already invested heavily into. Hindsight being 50/50, your mistake in the hand was on the turn and allowing yourself to get to the river.

I agree you have to call the river, but the mistake is allowing yourself to get into a position where it is correct to call getting 10 to 1 with ace high on a 4-to-a-flush board without the suit.

I'm typically playing the same way as you preflop and flop, but then check-folding the turn and river.

If I had a spade in my hand, then I'd jam the turn instead, but I'll never leave 35 cents leftover for a river bet.
