yeah so i actually decided to play poker tonight.

anyway, this one bemused me for a little while. do we just check behind on the river or is there any value in betting here? i actually think it's relatively obvious what the best move is in hindsight, but i had to think about it at the time.

table was pretty passive so no questioning the pf limp UTG kthx!

Stacks:
- neno77 with $13.20 - tuggermcg with $31.35 - Nevarteikt with $38.95 - stormswa with $24.30 - Qhr1s with $27.15

I'm going to check here. He called your raise on the flop, then check calls when the flush comes, then checks again with the fourth straight card. Since he's a blind, he could easily have an 8 for the straight and is checking to trap, or just doesn't want to build a pot against a similar straight, or he could hope you have the straight and he'll get you with his flush.

Basically, the only hand that calls you is one that beats you, so check.

storm just check calling? I'd have expected him to try to take it away earlier.

With the flush and straight there even if he doesn't have either, if you bet he can make it look like he has something, though I'm surprised he hasn't already. Check and don't give him the chance.

I put out a small value bet here and reevaluate if he ch-raises; he hasn't shown any significant strength and I'm guessing he's either sitting on a weak Q, middle pair, something like 75, or occasionally has you beat with a flush/straight.

I think sometimes you get caught up in a hand and second guess yourself when the decision is fairly obvious. IMO this is a value bet.

No relling what the bb has in an unraised pot. With the flop bet I would be putting him on a Q but he could have any kicker (to include 3 or 8). I think you have to check because I dont see him call with just two pair or worse.

Betting here is bad imo. Only hands that are beating you calls, and most of the time they raise, and lots of the time the raise will be a big one. Check for pot controll and to see showdown cheaply.

Against this weak opponent I raise here all day.:p

Just kidding. Check behind, unless villain is bad they will only call a raise with hands that beat ours. Also a check/raise, bluff or not, will put is in a really bad spot.
