These are arguments for checking. But you're logic deficient, so I expected that.

1) Yes, you make the pot bigger when you hit. But its also bigger when you miss. And we miss more often. We're intersted in EV, not winning big pots.

2) Your pair of fours has shit for showdown value when you barrel twice. When you barrel once you improve your 4's equity because his bluffs don't fold. Hence why Ac7c is a better hand to bet here than our A4.

Woah... Uh so idk if there's history between you two but take it easy.

1. We're not forced to put money in on the river when we miss. But fish will continue to put money in when behind when we DO hit, so creating a larger pot now CAN be +EV.

2. The fact that we have 4's is not a claim to SDV, but rather more outs that we can hit are nutted or closer to nutted -> two pair and trips outs.

yupp there's history

agreed with scourge + limp callers range OTF is always gonna be small pairs + weak Tx + FDs which all dont improve on that turn card.. we hve blockers to bottom set, 55 is possible admittedly.

checking the turn isn't bad, just barreling is a LOT better..

Bigger bet on the river. I think u almost always have him here. He's attempting to represent what u have. It is very possible he is just betting the missed flush draw. I don't like the flat call, value re raise to like 9 or 10 dollars see if the Fish bites the worm

Barreling turn is best. Simple as that. You can get called by tonnes of hands that you dominate and will stack if you get there, you will also have more SDV than these hands when you miss. Your turn barrel works as a bluff for semi-strong made hands such as PP's and SC's that flatted pre and hit a pair. You fold out all these hands that have more SDV value than you but are not willing to pay off three streets.

Bizarro thread. Can't believe there is so much talk about "being forced to call river" or being beat...he has a full house here like never. Are you flat-calling river with 54?

So much this. Excellent way of putting it too.

Villain seems to be a bit of a station, so bluffing a station on the turn is the better play? We make a better hand on the river what 30% of the time, so we build him a pot and hand it over 70% of the time?
