I probably just let him there with the ace, even though the HUGE bet on the turn felt like a buy. Don't really have any reads on him since I just sat down at the table. Any advice would be appreciated.

I think you should raise more preflop. Now you dont have much information about your opponents hand.

I could very well be wrong here, but I don't mind you just calling the flop. You're probably not going to get called by hands that you beat (except for TT, 99 and maybe the nut flushdraw, and you're hardly even beating that) and you're going to fold out a lot of hands that have you beat.

After the turn you're almost certainly behind. Either he had the nut flushdraw (and made aces) or he has a set. Doesn't seem to likely that he's bluffing you here, with the ace on the turn. Also, he's betting over half his stack, so any possible fold equity is gone as well. Good laydown on the turn.

Overall I think I would only have played preflop different.
