It's 2nl so I don't see a problem with just flatting the open with 88. On flop I'd suggest just calling the C-Bet on this flop.

Jack gl in the Sunday Million tomorrow. I see you're currently sitting in 8th place with 88 players left. Day 2 starts in ~12hrs. Let's go!

Jack.. you wouldn't by chance be theee Jack Oliver. Yah.. the one who placed in 3rd in the 2021 wsop Main Event for $3,000,000.00 Sure would be cool if he were you. If so, how about come pay us a visit at Cardschat?
Either way, I'll be railing your table(s) while grinding the micro/low stakes tomorrow (micros forever!)

This post is from 2015 so quite possible, he advanced all the way from 2NL to playing the second day of Sunday Million with a big stack :)

Preflop your action is fine. Now when you raised UTG you don’t have it what you are trying to represent: if you had good hands you would’ve raised UTG preflop. When you flat preflop your range is capped to a bunch of pocket pairs such as 22-99 and a bunch of broadways and suited connectors.
I’m afraid the best line for you would be calling the c-bet flop and see where it takes. You have a value hand, why to turn it into a bluff?

This post is from 2015, and in 2016 Jack Oliver made his first small cash in a live tournament. He is also from the UK, just like the profile making this post. So chances are, this is in fact the same person :)

Yes. I checked all that out prior to posting. (from HendonMob stats.). His WSOP MainEvent 3rd place was really a 1 hit wonder type of score (the kind everyone would love to have lol)
