Here is a situation came up where obviously the villain represented he had the 8. If he had a larger stack then I would have been forced to fold. I thought if he had the 8 then he had the 8 but I felt the all-in move was somewhat suspect especially coming from a short stack. A raise or re-raise would have made me cautious.

Yup, you've analysed it yourself. He's bet too much and made it obvious he didn't have the 8. $1.20 into 3 opponents to win 40 cent pot? There is a reason these players are playing micro limit!
