So I was playing a freeroll in my local casino recently, and because it's a freeroll and they don't want to pay dealers, you can volunteer as a dealer (you get food and stuff for free) as well as play. This meant the dealer was an amateur. During a hand that I hand that I had folded out of, the dealer picked up the deck to deal a card, but the guard thing at the bottom fell off, and I saw a card.
Being responsible, I announced that I had "spotted a 4 of hearts [don't remember the actual card, but it isn't relevant] at the bottom of the deck" - as which point the floor supervisor got on to me for speaking while I was no longer in the hand and had me sit out 1 circuit.
Is this something I should bring up with the management of the casino? It is casino policy to penalise players who break well-established poker etiquette during tournaments, so I can't fault them there. My issue is how they expected me to just allow a card to be seen by one of the three players in the hand but not notify the other players.
