About 13 years ago I just stumble across pokerstars when it was legal here in the states. I was going to university and played at local casinos and was really good so wanted to play all the time even at home. That's where I learned to play all kinds of poker, badugi, low ball, stud, omaha, fun times. then one Friday morning everything got ruined.

How did you guys get into playing online Poker?

I got into it by watching some famous Poker players stream on twitch.

I saw an ad about Freeroll and that money can be withdrawn immediately without fulfilling the conditions. After that, I won many such tournaments. Then I invested my money and started playing poker.

One day I scrolled youtube feed down and see - one of streamers I watched before streams poker. And I started thinking - hmm, poker is about math and learning, and also about predicting - what people will do and why.. And I really like most of this things)
More that that - this time I wasn't able to participate in my standard hobby trainings, so I had time to try something new) I downloaded pokerstars client, openned it, blink, blink.. And for at least for 5 month playing and learning - how to play poker)

My oldest son loved watching holdem on TV back when it was popular. We would get small games going at the kitchen table. Started playing online with play chips. One Saturday after 8 hours and a screen shot of the take down it was time to make a deposit.

Remember Full Tilt

So I stumbled across an online advertisement for Full Tilt over 13 years ago. Years before he passed, my father once gave me a crash course in 5 Card Stud so I wasn't completely new to the game of poker but Full Tilt introduced me to Texas Hold'em. Researched the greats like Daniel Negreanu who was the face of Full Tilt at that time. Phil Ivey who introduced me to the diverseness of the game. I played for real money online. Lost a lot, won a lot. It was fun but never took it serious. Introduced my older brother to it and it became this other avenue by which me and him could connect and discuss strategies. Depositing and withdrawing was easy. It was a blast.

I played for three months. Coincidently within a week, after cashing out everything, I realized something was wrong. I could no longer log on. The next day I found the news article about federal investigations! :(

I don't know if it was months or years later but I found PokerStars and spent years loosing money and making money on that.

Then I starting getting into live play. First it was an underground spot at this apartment in Newark New Jersey. That was a long long ago. Then Atlantic City playing the house. The wife wanted Vegas for our honey moon so I played the house there. Then Sugar House Casino in Philadelphia. Sugar House was when I realized I could make a name for myself. It was the first time I played cash games and tournaments. I started to become a regular until Covid-19 hit shortly after.

Then me and PokerStars had a falling out like so many other players whether famous or not so. It was through Cardchat.com that I found out about ACR. Been a ACR fan ever since.

I was in my early 20's when I discovered Full Tilt. I'm 38 now.

Late last fall I had been playing low entry tournaments at Foxwoods since October 2018 and thought that I might do better if I could practice during the week. I didn't want to have to pay for this practice so when I saw an ad for Global Poker in Card Player, I gave it a try. I don't know how much it really helped me but I enjoyed playing "big money" tourneys and pretending that I was a high roller. :) Then when I played one of the last tourneys at Foxwoods before they closed poker in March, I found America's Card Room and have been playing there and Global Poker since.

My friend invited me to play online poker back in 2008. Says, let's try, and suddenly you will succeed..and it turned out to be a good way to play.

Started a few years back. Mostly for fun and to keep sharp for when I play live. Since the pandemic been actually taking it more seriously. Still not a crusher but my graph has greatly improved.

Been playing poker a long time, and knew these poker sites existed, but didn't trust the whole online thing. I used to play at Full Tilt, Ultimate Bet, and a few others. I had $80 on Ultimate Bet, and $120 at Full Tilt having never invested a dime, but did invest tons of hours! Woke up one day, and the FED's took them down. After years of not playing online I decided to check it out again, and came across ACR, and their free bonus for joining, and have been there ever since.

I started on a fictional site, I bought it and when I accumulated tokens I couldn't sell it, it would even be banned from the site, that's when I researched you tube about online poker and found out that many players lived on poker, so I migrated to pokerstars!

partypoker had ads on TV in canada way back when they first started.

Also , I used to love playing partygammon backgammon freerolls ! If I recall it had maybe a hundred or so regular players.

How did I get into poker? I served in the army and my brother started to ask me how I was doing, and told the dialogue campaign that I took 1st place and won $ 1200, and then on the same day I downloaded poker stars for myself

I was introduced to poker by an old friend of mine 16 years ago. I started playing live poker and fell in love with the game. Since at the time there were no casinos for me to play at I had to play online. I immersed myself into poker playing and learning as much as I could handle!!

I began playing poker in a brazilian site I can't even recall the name. It was back in 2004 and only play money.

Then, I don't know how, I found party poker and also started watching poker on ESPN. Back then I only played for fun, play money and I could not imagine online poker would become the industry that is today.

For me it was another card game to play on pc and the objective was to accumulate as many chips as I could. I didn't relate poker to money. Eventually I quit and moved to other games.

Only in 2014 I started playing on PS and made real money deposits. I had a few friends who also played, so we always talked about it. I bought a few books and started studying. Never got good enough. Quit and resumed this year.
