I'm doing really well in 10-50k pokerstars play money MTTs and today I have made my first deposit of real cash.
How similar are these tourneys to 0,55-1,10USD MTTs, please?
Thank you :)

micros are sometimes tougher than med-high stakes online (only online) games... because you get some gamblers, in the mix... nobody "gambles" with $10, and the only time i think people play "play money" is to try out 3rd party software

They are two different worlds.
With play money players often risk because they have nothing to lose, playing for fun.
Playing with cash is different, people plays carefully (except gamblers). In micro stakes is hard because usualy players who play them, have low bankroll and try to win as much as they can.

The only resemblance is between play money tournaments and freerolls, that cost nothing
(besides the time ) so you can play very loosely.

They can't be too similar.

What motivates anyone to fold in play money tournaments?

Good luck !

I would imagine they are alike in a way, that you see many limpers in both play money and micro stakes of mtts.

It's a world of a difference my friend. Even if 10 cents are up for grabs, the level of play changes compared to play money games.

I'd argue and say that play money games may actually deteriorate whatever skill level you have built to that point. You will constantly be in multi way pots with the best hand and lose almost every time (winning a multi pot pre-flop is extremely unlikely compared to heads up, now imagine how your AA hold up in a 5 way all in preflop in play money :), not a chance!)

There is nothing about play money that is the same as cash! There are some very good poker players that play MICRO so do not think that because the blinds are low that the players are weak.

play money is worthless. so there is zero risk. so people play more hands. you get the occasional idiots playing regular games either because they're not bothered about losing and can afford it or because they're tilted. play money there are more all in every hand players. the only thing the same is the cards

When nothing is at stake (play money) it's easy to punt off and not worry about it. Even though micros aren't that big of a deal, you still have some actual $$$ at stake and so it's going to be taken that much more seriously.

Example: The other day I was bored on my phone playing PokerStars play money zoom. I had A4s and 3 players shoved ahead of me. I figured... why the heck not, and went with it, rivering a flush and scooping. Would I do that in any kind of real money game? Absolutely not!

as different as night and day. in play money you have nothing to lose so many players just play what i call bingo poker. freerolls are almost as bad at least untill the last hour.

As others basically are saying: play money is a waste of time. Only benefit of it is you need to get used to a poker room's actual software (i.e. buttons, flow, graphics, layout). Play money games aren't poker.

I would say that it all depends. Poker is poker and although sone oeople might just be fooling around in play money it is a good place to train before you do the real thing

It is 100% different playing in real money games vs. Play money. If you run out of play money chips, you can always get more. But if you run out of real money while playing online, you have to get the old wallet out and decide whether to deposit more or not. For me, my mindset is totally different when i playing with play money. Just my style of playing is way different. I play more hands, and
Hardly ever fold.

Some people buy game money. They will be able to explain all the differences they encountered.

i've been playing a lot of both, play money mtt and real money mtt, even a $1 buy in MTT is very different play than the play money ones.

real money people , at any stakes are tighter in general i find. some still go all in on dumb hands, but not nearly as much as play money games.

the only real thing from play money is the practice for playing the right cards in the right positions.
