Can you be more specific about what you mean by slump? Are you bubbling tournaments? Getting knocked out early? Cashing but not making final tables? Where specifically do you think you are not playing well and need work, beginning, middle, bubble, last few tables? I think if you are more specific about where you are having problems and not just generically saying you need to be more aggressive you will get much better and more specific examples of how to improve your play.I have been on a long slump in poker tournaments.
Good advice, that. I'd say as a start, loosen up a bit in late position.add some hands into your 3betting range against late position raisers.
and steal more, cbet more, double barrel more.
I have been on a long slump in poker tournaments. I think my problem is im not aggrsive enough in tournaments to have the chips nessary to win. How do i change this to put my self in position too win.
Don't play K6 from middle position.
You need to start recognizing trouble hands. Kx is a trouble hand. Suppose the flop comes KT 7 and you started with K6. While there is a decent possibility you are ahead here, there is an equal possibility you are in deep shit.
Poker is not about the top pair hand. Until you get that thru your head, you will continue to be the poker player you are now. So change things.
Things to think about;
Position... how many players can act behind you? the fewer the # the worse cards you can play. The bigger that #, the better your cards need to be. Simple.
Will you be the first to act?

If you keep playing the part of a fish, in a school of fish, fairly soon every bigger fish in the sea will round you up and eat you alive.
Are you an action junky? Playing substandard hands in NLH will give you lots of action, but don't think it will make you good.
In some cases I hope this comes across harsh. Nothing personal, you asked for our opinion and advice. Take it in, and act on it.
I good rule of thumb is to either raise or fold most hands if you a beginner. Checking is worst option.
Ill give u example of lacking aggression i was in a hand in a winners tounament in my pub poker league. their were 3 people in the pot blinds were 100-200 i was in middle position with k-6 i called the flop goes a-6-4 it gets checked around the turn is a 9 the plater to my right checked i check and the woman in the bb bet 250 he folds. Im thinking that shew is making the bet because we checked I didnt belive that she had a a or a 9 for that matter i thought she was betting on air so i decide too call the 250.
The river comes another 4 i check she bets 500 i thought she was bullfing so i called she wound up with trip 44s on the river i was upset if i was more aggressive i should have re-rasied her on the turn what do u think?
