Hi fellow CC's,
I have taken some time away from forums and focused mainly on playing. After having some coaching over the past few months I have had some small success.
I feel like I understand the game a lot better than previously, after coming back to CC I have seen a lot of the same kind of threads within the MTT sub thread. I thought I would give my tips to 9max turbo MTTs, Specifically 180s turbos but can apply to 9max MTTs with a bigger field.
These are notes that I have taken from my coach during 1on1 coaching sessions.
Do's:
* Open bet size 2x as standard.
Open 3x sb vs bb
3bet 3x as standard
cBet 30% standard
* Flat in the sb lineur range suited QJ,KQ 89, 910
* Play with a wider range in early stages, everyone has such tight opening ranges at these levels.
3x open when 40bb+
* BB calling range tightens the bigger the opening bet size, 2x = wider than 2.5/3x+ = tighter.
* When big stack we can open all Ax/broadway/suited connectors/1 gappers when small stack sizes behind.
Midelling stack play tight and look for profitable spots.
Small stack -10bb play nash.
* Pocket pairs good for deep stack
middeling to small stack open from middle/late postitions not in early position.
* Raise often call less. When vs an open our range should tighetn dramatically from each positon.
* vs short stacks open limp from early position normally nuts 10% hands AJs+AQ+,99+,KQs+.
vs small stacks opening mid position, normally Ax/broadway they want to get in.
vs big stacks, opening with small stacks behind (-10bb) normally tight range (wanting to get it in).
* Open shove wide from Co/Btn/Sb, Recreational players don't call optimal, Regulars will so note your players.
Call tight, you can call wider from sb/bb depending on stack sizes/ action before all in.
Don'ts:
* Click back raise
* Play out of position
* Calling all ins light
Anyone with any comments or input is highly welcome as I am no pro and I am still improving so any weaknesses spotted would be great to hear!
