Hi guys,
I've decided to play poker as a profession. I have a $2000 bankroll, and I've got a few months living expenses saved up (I live with a friend who only charges me $200/month for rent), and I plan on cashing out half of my per session winnings.
I plan to play limit because of the reasons stated here: http://poker.wikia.com/wiki/Limit_versus_no-limit_hold_'em
Since I need at least 300 bb to survive variance, I plan to play $3/$6 stakes, and go higher after my bankroll grows. I may switch to no-limit once my bankroll grows larger, if my risk tolerance changes significantly.
I absolutely hate being forced out of a pot in no-limit because a whale decides to go all-in, and then I find out they have garbage cards. So infuriating.
Also, I'm located in the USA. What online cardroom do you recommend, and I'm thinking of downloading Poker Tracker, should I? Any CPAs you recommend?
And at least professional poker playing is better than my former job of securities trading, because you can't lose more than your bankroll! Not that it ever happened to me, but still...honestly to me securities trading is a lot more like gambling, because you're effectively playing against a weighted RNG trading stocks and options.
Thanks for the help,
Lexi
