I am trying to improve my tournament play. I learned nlhe and have been playing ring for a year now and tournaments primarily with cardschat since May. I know the basics and can hold my own ring but am lost in tourney. I know if you get a low pp to see a cheap flop and in ring I know what that is but what about late in tourney?
I am 22/32 left and the blinds are 600/1200 I have 9,310 in chips.
I get dealt 55
I don't know what to do and fold because with 9k I do not feel 1,200 is a cheap flop or is it?
It is irrelevant now because the following was next hand but for future use what would you do with 55 in that situation? And did I play this one wrong as well, I was trying to get action but got more than I bargained for, lol.

AA hand is obviously a bad beat.

As for 55...it's an automuck most of the time from EP but with your stack size you should probably consider this your double-or-go broke hand.

You can't ever ever limp with your stack size (unless you have AA).

If in EP, going through the blinds again is going to devastate you, so open push.

If it folds to you in later position, pushing is again a good opportunity.

If you're in later/mid position and there is action in front of you, you should
probably fold.

If you're in the blinds facing a likely steal from a loose button, shove over.

OK I was in mid position, I forget that matters it was called or folded till my turn and I folded because I figured it was not a strong enough hand should I be called so if you would push how much.....
and I know the AA is an obv call but should I have raised it higher or do you just do the standard double the big blind.
I am wondering if I should have shoved it higher, yes everyone may have folded but would the blinds and antes be considered a good pot?

Since your stack is so low, with 55 in any position, if it's folded to you, then you push all of it. It's your first-in vigorish. Your M is only around 4. Time to double-up or go out. Of course adding 30% to your stack when everyone folds is a good result, too. Additionally, anyone (except BB) calling you has to worry about others left to act behind them.

With AA in early position, I think you need to raise much more than double the big blind. A caller only has to put in 1200 to win 4425, so it's great odds for lots of hand to call. You don't want AA against a lot of hands. You'd rather be up against one opponent so I think all-in is correct, especially if you just got away with it the hand before with your 55. Again, if everyone folds, another 30%+ to your stack is a great result and you've bought yourself some more time.

I concur.

Tbh, youre stack is too short to worry about seeing cheap flops. You're pretty much in push fold mode with 7bb's here. We cant take the shot at simply calling anything, we have to get in with as much equity as possible. I'd be shoving probably 77+ and dependent on posistion AT+
