Im really really wanting to play poker, and badly. Dont make much money, which is sad. I feel barred from the game. Tired of playing the watered down feelings of play money poker. I want to play for real.
Real live poker is really fascinating me, but im afraid of the bets. Ill bet ten thousand dollars on poker if I was skilled and had that kind of money to... literally THROW AWAY. But I dont. I can't throw away that much money. If poker is a "game of skill" shouldn't there be some way to start small? Hell ill play poker with like 5 bucks if I can, start there, and if im good I ought to be able to "build" from that? Right? Problem is, too many people out there make so much more money than I do. So... if I try to play with that amount of money ill be cleaned out on the first hand dealt, probably even before the flop!
Ive had some thoughts... Bear with me im new. What if there was some way to get together with people who are looking to play poker on a smaller scale. Maybe if there was some way to meet with other players at a similar income level. I see the poker tables in the casinos. Do people make contacts or get their friends/rivals together and they all sign up to use the table on a certain date/time? Do people search for people of similar incomes looking for similar amounts of betting or bankroll management? Be nice to get enough people together in my home to play it at a small scale or lower income level, but theres the law.. also the fact that I would prefer to have a few people playing the game who are just rivals or strangers, which is a bit dangerous because of cheating possibilities and violent outbursts.
