hi everybody,i play mainly on pokerstars 2/5nl and creeping my roll up slowly, i play one table at a time but when i try more i dont play as well so i just stick to one for now, its just that ive noticed a lot of players are playing not just 2,3,or 4, but over 15 for a good few and even some over 20. i can understand a few but over 20, hows it possible. my thoughts are they just play pocket pairs and monsters like a,ks and just premium hands, whenever im facing a larg bet i have a look to see if villans playing a lot of tables and if so i know that more than likely thave got the goods, would that be a fair assumtion and does anyone reading this play that many tables...:p

I agree to your thoughts sir. MOSTLY players playing multitables are mainly playing mechanical. So if they bet or raise preflop, they have the goods or at least a decent hand.

I once used to do a bit of multi tabling to test my mind i did 9 tables at a time of heads up hyper S&Gs on iPoker network. It was not profitable if i had a bit of running cold but with that many tables heads up it was lower variance as i saw more hands and more outs coming. But dont always confuse players that multi table having the goods and playing only monsters, theyre just grinders and most likely pretty profitable so if u can tell who skilled vs donks are, try to get involved with donks more often with hands with good equity. And the grinders to play cautiously against but note sometimes they can run semi bluffs and or bluffs at times so they dont "always have the goods"... but often arent making river raises unless theyre super strong on the board and have the goods more often than not.

I've played 16 tables of 2nl before, it's not that bad if you stack, play tight, and keep it simple but it's not ideal, and I definitely made mistakes. It's exhausting too, after and hour of that you start going cross eyed. I didn't enjoy it tbh

I usualy play 2 or 4 tables of 2nl zoom, but when i play regular tables i play 6 tables 6max and i find it it have bad sides... If i got bad beat on one table i pretty much drop my play on other tables as well...
More tables you play more like a robot and dont follow other players too much, you base your play on people stats wich is wrong,
and when player with 70/20 shoves you call and he show you AA

They are professional players, of course they will be able to play at more tables. Im not talking about professional live players, because its not the same. There are just players that play way too much online and the game becomes easier for them. Whether its profitable - it depends on the player strictly. But just because they do it, doesnt mean that you should do it. How? There are programs or poker clients that can create hotkeys ( F1 check, F2 bet and such ). They only play monster hands, usually TAG players. If you cant understand how they do it you better not try it at all. You can do it. lets say at 0.1/0.2$ blinds, where if you get beaten up at all the tables you wouldnt even notice the missing money from your bankroll. If you want to build it up, play single or two tables, where you can be way more careful and watch for the rest of the players on the table, instead of just focusing on your cards.

It is not profitable at all, but we sometimes make that mistake and we regret for our moves.

if you see a player multitabling you better not want to get in a pot whe he does cause he will usually have a better hand than yours. thats useful info. I personally play at 4 tables at the sane time and feel comfortable. start playing on 2 and slowly try to play on more

Some people can play large numbers of tables effectively. They can't play their absolute best game because there's less time to gather and analyze information, so as noted, they play more mechanically than usual. This means they face fewer difficult decisions where they have to think, at least proportionally.

They don't expect to win at the same rate per 100 hand, but the idea is to win more per hour. As a simple example, let's say you win 10BB/100 one-tabling. If you two-table, you win more per hour as long as you stay above 5BB/100.

Also, the type of game you play can make a big difference. The faster it is and/or the more hands you're likely to play, the harder it is; e.g. it's harder to play X tables of HU than 6max, which is harder than full ring.

I saw one guy a week or more ago playing over 30 $2.50 X 180 player MTTs.

Only beef I have with that is the slow play it causes. I can handle bad beats, I've learned to have some patience when the cards are dead, but I can not handle watching a player's timer EVERY hand. There are some games when there's 2 or more of these at a table and I want to leave 'cause it just ain't fun any more.

Playing multi tables

Hey Johnny,

I am in the same mind set as you. How can anyone play 15 to 20 tables. I have problems playing two tables. But, do manage. Once I tried four tables. That is the total number I could put on my computer screen. And, just could not keep up with them.

Oh, I could play all the games, but not able to play the well. I did not think about it, but, playing multi tables, just play the killer hands makes sense.

Thanks for the info. Im going to try with the killer pocket pair theory. lol

Regards,

Mike

People have different ceilings in terms of how many tables they can play effectively. Practice helps, but the simple fact of the matter is that some people can think and make decisions faster than others.

As for putting lots of tables on your monitor, if you look around, you can find videos that show multi-screen setups. I know I've seen at least six.

multiplaying tables

Yes, That is correct

There is no way humanly possible that one can observe how other players at the table plays, and that in one of the fundamental of poker.

I play poker for fun. Don't fool myself that I am a good player or will ever win any large sums of money. So if you can'f scope out the players and try to out wit them what is the point.

cya on the felts

Thanks for the info. I think I will stick to two tables. When I want to just relax and try to win a few cents or to increase my play money br I play only one table.

But playing one table there has to be something good on TV. LOL

I usually watch "Last of the Summer Wine" (A BritCom) while playing. It is a funny program with nothing "heavy" in it to distract one. lol

Good luck on and off the felts.

Mike:)

There is no way humanly possible that one can observe how other players at the table plays, and that in one of the fundamental of poker.
Don't forget that anyone playing a lot of tables is almost certain to be using a database that compiles quite a bit of info and makes it available at a glance via a HUD. So they don't have to watch for as much as players who don't have this type of tool. They also don't have to try to remember as much.

I play poker for fun. Don't fool myself that I am a good player or will ever win any large sums of money. So if you can'f scope out the players and try to out wit them what is the point.
The point doesn't have to be the same for everyone. Different people put different amounts of weight on money vs entertainment. And they can overlap to varying degrees. In my case, I play much more for fun, but part of my enjoyment comes from winning. And not just then and there at the table; it's also fun when I can dip into my winnings to pay for a new PC, take a vacation, buy something special for family, etc.

Otoh, it seems you value outwitting your opponents far more than I do. NP - it's just an example of having different values / mindsets.

It gets easier. Somewhere in this forum there is a video of one of the members playing 24 tables of $100FR. Jagsti, I think. I've never gone past 20 tables myself.

If two is okay, try three. If you get used to three, try four.

Decision making becomes faster with practice. Don't push yourself to play more tables if you're not comfortable with it.

If you've ever watched instructional videos you'll see the instructors
  1. play 4 tables at once,
  2. while still talking and explaining their thinking as they go, and
  3. pulling up interesting hands to review and
  4. still making notes on their opponents.

I play four tables at Bovada (the limit). I used to play six on full tilt and stars when they were active in the US, but I found my win rate was the highest at four tables.

How many computers does one need to play multi- Tables

Here is my question: How many computers do you need to play 15 tables at one time.

The best K can do is put four tables on my computer. And, they are too small to see clearly. But, that is no never mind, since I can't keep up with the four table at once. Can manage to fine.

Just interested in the number of computers.
