Can We still Cashout AS U.S. players

I was told by a friend that as of this week, we in the US are not allowed by law to cash out or winnings. Anyone heard differently or not what is exactly going on?

You may cash out, but it is getting harder and harder. Each site has there own rules, I would recommend contacting each site for their rules, guidelines, and options for US players.

From what I understand, and I could be wrong, it's depositing money on the sites that will be dificult. If the sites pay you money, US banks will still have to honor it. The law says they can't transfer money to gambling sites.

I was wondering that myself. It would totally suck to put in a few hundred bucks, try to cash out at grand only to be told you cant. I have deposited on FT and PS, but as of now, no where near that grand. LOL. They sure took my money easy so surely they will be able to deposit it back right? Thanks for any info!!

Most sights US players must cash out recieveing a check. visa and mastercard restrictions, Ck out my blog about Players only cash out policy. It is close to the other sights policy although the fees vary

Does it not stand out to anybody else that the guy who introduced this bill is from New Jersey, a state that has legal casinos and is probably feeling in in the pocketbook from revenues they are losing b/c folks can stay home and gamble instead of driving to Atlantic City?? What bullshit hypocrisy-it's immoral for you to gamble, unless you're doing it where the politicians can get a chunk of the money, like B&M casinos, lotto, horse tracks, bingo parlors, etc. Utter and complete bullshit.

If you're an online player, and you're not contacting your representatives' offices and letting them know how you feel about these crap anti-gaming bills, then you need to. If you've got time to post on this site, you can take the time to send your congressman an e-mail.

A buddy of mine just cashed out from Stars a couple weeks ago. They sent him a paper check that he said was non-descript(didn't say pokerstars on it). He had no problem cashing it at his bank.

I was just informed that my PokerTime withdrawal has been delayed/cancelled because the company that normally cuts their checks in the US is no longer in business. Then, via e-mail they asked for:

Bank Account Number:
Account holder:
Routing Number:
Checking/Savings account:
Bank Name:
Bank Address:
Branch Name:
Player Address:

They are owned my Carmen Media, whose Web site I can no longer find and I definitely do not trust them with this kind of information. It is legal for US players to receive their payouts, so I'm not sure why they can't just cut us checks. Any recommendations?

Has anything truly changed in the past six months for players from the United States?

I have personally cashed out from FTP and PS in the last month with no problems. I actually got my checks within a week or so from both sites. I live in CT.

i hope u can cash out because US players r stilll putting money in. i know peeps that hv cashed out but that was a few months ago. iknow there r a few small fees too when u cash out and some sites require that u leave a minimum amount in your account before cashing out and some dont i guess its what site ur playing that makes the difference.

Has anyone set up an international bank account for handling their poker accounts. It's legal and as long as you pay taxes on profits, the IRS couldn't care less. The drag is you often need a sizeable minimum balance.

I'm tiring of my bank interfering with my personal life. I play poker on The Isle of Man (PokerStars). I might as well give them my banking business as well.

USD Checks will be delivered by regular mail and are expected to arrive within 15 business days. Non-USD checks under $1,000 USD equivalent will be sent by regular mail, and are expected to arrive within 15 business days. Non-USD checks over $1,000 USD equivalent will be delivered by courier and are expected to arrive within 7 business days.

I even called to double-check. As Talking Heads said in "Once In a Lifetime" back in the '70s: "same as it ever was".

I have always wondered how would a person explain to the IRS if you deposited a huge check, such as 80k for example

Anyboby know anything about PIC-CLUB lately? I have used them to make several deposits to Doyles and Pokerhost in the last year or so, but have never cashed out. I read a post on another forum that said he was getting the run-around from PIC-CLUB about getting a check. That was the first bad thing I've heard about them. For all I know, that poster could have had any number of issues to comply with PIC-CLUB's withdrawal policy, such as identity and residence verification. I hope his case was an isolated incident. Anybody else have any PIC-CLUB stories?problems?

I dont have the emails anymore but my cousin did email Full Tilt and poker stars about cashing out FR winnings. They both said in short. Your money Is your money no matter how you won it. You can meet the minamum cash out requirements and cash out with out makeing a deposit. If you are a U.S. resident you must wait for a check. Visa and mastercard will not take the charge back.
I recently checked into Players only's cashout policy and theirs is much different. You do have to depost there. See my thread for more info on them. Im sure alot of sights are the same. This thread contains the emails from me and their replys.

You can email any sight you play on and ask what their policy is. So far from my experance Full Tilt, Poker Stars, and Absolute do not require a depost to cash out.

FT and PS both allow withdrawls without having to make deposits.

The only way you can get your money back is by check and that is if you are in the U.S.

My last cashout from ps was the first week of Jan '09. For the first time I tried an e-check - it took 10 days for the funds to be deposited in my account.

In Dec. '08 I cashed out from ps with a paper check - amounts under $1000 are sent via mail from one of two offices in the U.S. - mine always come from CA. The papercheck is very non descript as another member mentioned and had a different company listed on it. I found this nice - it would be difficult to cash a check that clearly stated "PokerStars" on it - lol.

Amonts over $1000 requested in paper check form are sent via courier where you have to be home and sign for it.

My paper check also took 10 days. The bank cleared it no problem.

On 01/30/09 The Poker Edge ESPN Radio Podcast with Phil Gordon aired an interview with Howard Lederer and the main topic was about the UIGEA rules. (If you have an IPOD you can obtain this podcast with Howard free through ITUNES).

According to Howard the rules went into effect on Jan. 19th this year but the specific ruling about banks not accepting deposits from online gaming sites or players transferring funds to gaming sites doesn't have to be complied with until Dec. 2009.

I am just repeating what I heard on the podcast - I have not verified this info via other means.
