The main villain in this hand was a bit too LAG, and he had been 3-Betting quite a lot but he had been playing quite well generally considering that this was a freeroll. I had a decent tight image at the time. I think that preflop and the flop was quite standard, as the flop bet looks more like a bluff, and they were the sort of opponent who would probably float to a flop bet with some A highs.

The turn was really gross, and I didn't bet because I didn't want to get raised, and I probably wasn't going to get called by worse. I think that he would have probably bet with a lot of his hands because he knows that I am fairly unlikely to have an 8, and if I was bluffing on the flop, I would probably give up fairly often on the turn, with no hope of improving if he had an 8, with hands which I had 3 bet bluffed or with other random weaker hands.

On the river I had an idea. I thought that if I bet as a very small blocker bet, so that he would call with some of his hands that I beat, but only raise if he had a better hand, as I can have some 8x or boats and so I didn't think he was so likely to bluff on the river. In a freeroll I think that there are not that many people who would bluff like that on the river. My plan was originally just to fold if he raised, but after he went all in, I started to think. I was getting a pretty sick price (about 10K to win 35K), and after all, he had been quite an aggressive opponent, and my KK holding was near the top of my range, as I might have played a lot of lower pairs that way and I was pretty unlikely to have a very good hand. The whole hand was quite interesting and it made me think quite a bit.

What do you think?

Thanks

I like the preflop 3bet, sizing and everything seems to be inline. From the call by the original raiser I would already be discounting AA KK and maybe QQ. Proceeding from there I would like to size larger on this two tone flop, maybe nearer to 5k to charge any draws. The turn call is fine and check calling would be my default also here. This does make our hand look like one pair or turned flush draw tho. The blocking bet on the river is a fine play to use at times. In this spot I'm not too sure I'd use it tho. I may be more inclined to check and evaluate. Given the hand as played tho I'm probably folding here but definately a tough spot. I wouldn't be surprised to see a flush or maybe the long shot rivered full house.

You played it fine, hate the river blocker bet. You want his bluffs to fire this river, not fold when you make this small bet, so you should check.

I doubt you thought you were making this bet on the river to induce a re-raise by looking weak, but this river is definitely a call when you do so.

The way you played the turn and river under reps your hand and allows him to bluff. Ggiven your image and your opponent's image this is a call.
An eight or flush is definitely in his range but I expect him to have a missed flush or a jack more often than not here.

Again hard to read this hand.
Preflop 3bet is too small. 3000-4000 would be fine
Flop c-bet is probably okay, but I would bet more, 3500 maybe to make villains odds worse.
Turn line is okay
River - check and more likely fold. Leading oop in frerolls usually means strong hand

played it fine, always getting it in here, no reason not to. Players in freerolls can have just about anything here and with a name like jamjam, that's another reason to just snap this guy off. Not going too much into ranges here since it's hard to pick, but 8x is unlikely due to the fact he raised preflop and called a 3bet. i wouldn't rule it out, however there's two of them on the board and he faced action preflop so it's just less likely.

Thanks for the replies. I think I played the hand okay until the river, but the blocker bet on the river was bad because it meant that he might be less inclined to bluff. I can also see that it was way too nitty of me to plan to fold to a jam. However, after thinking for a long time, I did eventually call it off, realising that this was a freeroll and this player had been pretty aggressive in the past, and had bluffed on the river before. villain showed Ad 2d. I wasn't massively surprised to see that he had flatted a three bet with that hand, although I was interested to see that he had (I assume :p) turned a pair into a bluff. I guess I was mistaken in thinking that villain had more 8s than he really would.

Thanks for the replies!
