I have QQ in a tournanent in late stage of game and I was on button.

One opponent just call BB all other folds I raised 4BB
Blinds folds and one opponent who call BB call my raise.

Flop 2 3 7 rainbow.
He checked I raised Half pot he called itand on turn It was 10 now opponent goes all in.
What was right move for me
On board 2h 3c 7s 10c

He probably didn't have anything but cards like A10 and you played the hand right I feel. Maybe he even had 10 with a lower kicker. Depends really on the player, fluke player might have done this easily with these hands. But incase of a very tight player, he might have had a set, but this play from a good player is unlikely as he would try to extract value from his set on such a dry board.

I would have called keeping the player in mind, players highely unlikely to bluff, i would have given them credit. But with an random players i would have called.

I think he had a pair from the board cards because at first step he only just called the first round. As deathrow007 wrote above maybe a pair of tens. He supposed that you have strong cards in your hand but not pairs, maybe AK,AQ that's why he tried with an allin. This is a call for me...

He has set most of the time but it's very hard for you to fold.

I would say bad play if the opponent

-is playing TAG
-went all in on Turn for your stack
-and called you pre-flop, flop, and pushed on Turn

Smells to me like AA, KK, a set or two pair.

In order to win tournament we all need to fold big pairs QQ+

Mistake man)))
In your previous post
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/tournament-poker-59/flush-vs-flush-bad-beat-mistake-279889/
was almost equally situation, but there your opponent make big (half bank) raise. Here, you did this bet. WHY? Cause you both think you have the strongest hand. But there opponent was really stronger then you.
So, what is the mistake? DON"T MAKE ANY HALF BANK RAISE
Make 3bb and watch his reaction. Be ready to fold, yes, even yours pocket QQ

you played OK. you had to call, at least you have tons of hands against that player and you know he plays only sets that way.

He could have aces or kings, some people limping with it, or pocket 33,22,77, or really A10, but depends of size of his stack.

I looked at your profile and I saw that you didn't fill in all the fields. Under Additional Information (Optional) there is a question Best Poker Tip:

What's your best poker tip that you've been given or would give to others?

If you look at my profile you'll see my Best Poker Tip: "Being able to throw a strong hand."

To fold QQ+ for me it is not a problem. Sometimes, with 3 or more opponents when they go all-in preflop I fold AA without thinking one second, especially in the bubble.

here you need to consider many factors . nature of the action the opponent , the nature of the game and limit games . but in most cases will have to equalize

Depends how BB do you have and your opponents....is he a fish..a recr....he played tight the last 20 hands....He could have JJ+or a set or K10..A10..If he was a tight player.. 15 VPIP...i would fold..IF he had like 23 VPIP and a big CC i would call..

I would go all-in also. If he called your raise before the flop, you can mostly accept a top pair and high kicker here. It's different when blinds call since they may have lower cards.

Imo you could still find a fold on the turn with that kind of raise.

Easy shove, why even think about it, why play it slow only to get out played, why would he flat with KK and AA on your raise preflop, only thing u have to worry about is small pair and he hits a set, then ull get a raise after the turn for sure, but then again u r already pot committed and u have to call, if u find a fold there WOW thats just wow

Why fold on dry board when you have top pair?
