Hi guys, im a new member here. So, lately, ive been playing microstake mtt mainly for entertainment and have consistently cash, although its negligible since its microstake.

So here's my question, regarding a hand that i just had.

Background scenario:-
1. Post-bubble
2. Had around 75bb, and was 8th out of 250 remaining entries
3. Villain had the same stack size as me.
4. So far, Ive played a number of pot with this Villain since we were the only two slightly more aggressive players. And i know for sure that he has been raising/calling re-raise with any 2 cards.
5. Villain is on +1 utg, I was on cut-off
6. My hand was 6s

Pre-flop:
1. fold to Villain, he limps, the person after him limps.
2. I raise to 2.5bb, they both calls.

Flop: Qs 9s 7d
1. Villain checks, person after him checks, i check.

Turn: Qh
1. Check, Check
2. I raise 60% pot
3. Villain calls, the next person folds

River: 6d
1. Villain checks.
2. I raise 75% pot (i put him on a Queen trips there, so i expected him to reraise me)
3. He 3-bet me, I 4-bet him, he 5-bet me.
4. I shoved, he calls and showed a Q7 and instantly called me a fish.

Was it a bad idea to 4-bet him thinking he had only a trips and trying to get more value out of my hand. I bet the turn to see where he was, and was 90% sure he had a Queen. But when I hit the set on the river to make a house, could I really fold there, or was I really just being a fish.

What would you do in my spot?

First at all, never post the result! hahahaha.
I dont know how to avoid this kind of losses. When he's 5bet you, he displey a HUGE value or a HUGE bluff as you told he is agressive. Sincerely, I would did the same as you. I cant give QT- to this hand because his open position UTG+1 its to early to gamble, maybe QJ+, never QT-. He is the trully fish, for sure :) Sorry for your loss :(

But a set of 7 its in his range too... But dont change the fact, I would not drop this full house against a agressive player.

It's microstakes, only limp preflop for set value and postflop check/fold if you not get set...This is the most optimal play, but now you're just wasting your chips..

Please use hand converter for better transparency.
You should be more carefully, because your Full house on the river was not the best.
Even if on the river come 7, for example, he beat you with 777QQ, but you 666QQ.
So this was great lesson for you. Good luck next games!

flop is the critical pt of getting question there. betting is not that great in flop like that. check fold is better. turn even get worse if u got a weak pair. i do think u may prevent this situation.

for me, i would shove on river cas i wait for cards what i want.
but in fact i will fold with any bet on flop/turn
river is good and obv no ways to fold.

i would say villian can be any cards for 2.5bb as he is chip leading this way.
it is not surprise even he got q9. 7s 9s.

i will put him got queen with weak kicker at turn.

I think you played good. In these micro stakes people will easily get involved with trips.

I would not raise preflop with 66 after you have limpers when you have the option to see a cheap flop and good implied odds. if your isolating preflop you want to raise bigger usually 3x the bb +1 for each limper. its too small and they are going to call so i would raise at least 5bb, and maybe even more if its early in a 0.11 game.

I would also get all in on the river, in 0.11 games you can get alot of value with anything decent. you should bet bigger in these games and try to get alot of value out of hands like top pair top kicker.. in higher games people wont pay you off but here you can alot of bad calls.

River: 6d
1. Villain checks.
2. I raise 75% pot (i put him on a Queen trips there, so i expected him to reraise me)

4. I shoved, he calls and showed a Q7 and instantly called me a fish.

What would you do in my spot?

When the river peeled a 6 you bet, you didn't raise.
Villain raised, then you 3 bet.
And then finally he 4 bet.

There was no 5 bet.
