Your biggest edge in poker is what you choose to play preflop. Fish play everything, good players are selective. Stop blowing it.
2ndly, the straddle makes the stack to pot ratio smaller, which is worse for a hand like T7s. You want lots of money behind once you get to the flop so you can draw and still have money behind to get paid. The straddle (and especially the raise) make that damn near impossible. Add that to the fact that live games often have people playing short of 100bb's and this is a really easy fold pre.
Yeah, you can call once you hit the flop.
