Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 65/26/2.67

Normally I play at $4 NL, but I was taking a shot at $10 NL because I'm actually rolled for it, and found a nice fishy-looking table.

Villain stats are only over 30 hands, but he's clearly a huge fish, playing very loose, and he has a huge aggression factor. Thoughts on this hand?

You played it great imo.

He is a donk for calling a 3-bet with Q10

before looking at the spoiler....

My balls shrink at that flop, and the only way I can see another card is if he checks to me....

Looked at spoiler;

I should trust what my balls have been trying to tell me all these years. ;facepalm;

Really, 3rd pair without 'the' suit? and you shove? Most around here will tell you I am that fish, but even I will not do that.....

Question, is it standard to 3-bet the 99 from the big blind into two people? With the second person in the pot already and me closing the action I think I can flat to set mine but the 3 bet seems spewy.

As played Zeebo's theorem applies here. No one ever folds a boat, nor should they in this case. Once you hit the nine the money was going in.

No worries dj...

As to what others are saying, my 3-bet was a little spewy, yes. But the reason I decided it made sense is because the SB was doing exactly what I'd expect him to do against such a huge fish - flat it pre with light holdings. So I 3-bet, expecting the fish to continue with crap (happened), and the SB to FOLD his crap (happened). Maybe it was spewy, but that's what I was thinking.

And for clarification, I didn't shove the flop. I was very iffy about betting the flop, because there's obviously a fair amount of Qs in his range, but with such an aggro player I was expecting to be tipped off quickly by a raise if he had the queen. When the 9 comes, I'm getting it all in because the flop call tells me he has a queen and is willing to stack off.

I don't really like set-mining here, because I feel like I'm not getting proper odds even with implied odds. I could be wrong here, but if I say, hit top set, it's going to be a lot harder to make money, because the SB will fold a lot more when he's beat, and the villain's range isn't only filled with overpairs. And the times when we have 2nd set, he's probably only going to continue with top pair or better. He was fishy, but he knew how to fold when he had absolutely nothing too.
