WPT Freeroll

I played in the WPT freeroll qualifier on UB and built up 25k in the early going so I decided to sit out and not try and knock out smaller players..the top 100 moved on and there was like 225 left when i decided to do this..One guy started calling me names for not playing and it kind of upset me so I started playing again and he was the 101 first person when I took him out of the game was i wrong for doing this or should I have ignored his rudeness and just kept sitting to move on..I try to be as polite as possible to people but I really hate trash talk from people it gives poker a bad name in my point of view..

No place for rudeness in or out of poker imo. And why would anyone who has a sitter at their table want to berate them for sitting. Sitters = free chips for those still playing. As far as making him the bubble boy:icon_thum :hahaha: Chalk another one up to Karma.

Nice to see you still qualified, sure it can be annoying to some people but as dawgbones said, its free chips, upto you what you do, in qualifying situations like that, many people would do the same.
Dont forget you can turn your chat off totally or just for 1 person.

Don't worry about it man. I usually just ignore them and stick to playing my game. Just be a bigger man than them and take them out and knock them out, then they won't trash talk anymore. Good job on qualifying to next round.

I would have been proud of it, can't stand trash talk.

Happy ending in this case, bet if felt good, but it's not good that you're affected that much by trash talk. I'd recommend turning off the chat too.

I personally have used the tactic of trash talk to force a player to call or trick him to fold know when to use this tactic can come in very very handy overall be careful some trash talkers are setting you up

Mathematically, if your odds of surviving to the payout were better by sitting out then sitting out is a better play.

There is more to poker that just the prize though.
If the fun or satisfaction was greater than the consequences of the increased risk, then playing was the right move for you.

One word for you, MUTE. Also if he goes to far with his bad mouthing like using racial description or slurs than report his ass. But the easy route would be to mute

at least when you knocked them out they probably thought that they should have kept quite

i love it when this happens.as far as sitting why would he complain/its one less person to deal with and the free chips never hurt either.

Thx for all the replies I have now turned my chat off so i dont see the trash talk and it seems my game has gotten a little better!

trash talking is part of the game. in certain cases it can be used to trick a player into thinking they have a tell on u. doent seem so in your situation tho...glad u knocked him out

You probably did the wrong thing by starting to play again. You let this guy get to you, but in the end it all worked out for you. It's just an extra bonus knocking this guy out and it must have felt good. Props

I been playing in the same freerolls ive qualified for the WPTsun sat already that tourney takes the top 75 once i got in the top 20 with around 200 players left i sat out and if i did play a hand it was AA or KK and i didnt even play them hard mostly checked and called with them and i am working on the LA Poker classic if i can ever catch the registrations If you made the top 100 and in a comfty position sit out dont worry about anyone else i normally keep my chat on tourney info any ways so i dont have to see the crying that goes on.Dont feel bad either because you knocked him out all u did was guarantee your seat in the ME and ended the tourney for everyone if he went out in 101st Good luck in the next round hope i can get my seat in that one to

He "manned up" by knocking him out and made him regret complaining about wizard sitting out.

Good for you, screw that guy. I'd be happy I knocked him out. He's not playing with your money.
