Favorite pro, overall because you respect them or just your favorite pro to watch.

Mine is Negreanu, he talks alot about what he is thinking and why, and calls peoples cards correctly, it is insightful to watch him play. Also he is a good role model for the hoards of fools that watch hellmuth, Madusow, and tonyg verbally abuse players, then they mimic this and think that verbally abusing other players is acceptable and even professional behavior.

I respect Allen Cunningham the most.
He doesn't get mad or cocky. He seems pretty level headed and respectful.
Heck, he even seems shy.

Now, my favorite to watch is Phil Laak. While Humberto or Hevad Khan or Matusow or Hellmuth put on theatrics, Laak is self-deprecating enough that I never hold it against him.
That is, with the other guys I think they are @ssh*les out to demean the other players, but with Laak I feel like he's including me in his situation. There's no animosity.

Phil Ivey - quiet, focused, and an amazing all-around poker player. He rarely ever shows emotion at the table, which is a good thing. Only time I've seen him show anything was the Tilly hand where she checks behind with the 2nd nuts ("I thought you had pocket kings"). That look was classic :)

Rolemotels??? Is this some new term the gals came up with that I've never heard before?

Makes me want to be a tv pro! ( I think...depends on how many female fans there are to choose from and what they look like  )

For the same reasons I mentioned about Phil Ivey Allen Cunningham is also one of my favorites. Now I'm not naming people I think are fun to watch in an entertainment sense, I'm naming people I love to watch because they are so amazing at poker, and play the game as I think it should be played. Cunningham talks a bit more than Ivey, but it's never berating a player, it's mostly just thinking out loud.

If you have seen Allen Cunningham play much, you'll be more impressed with him than Negreanu. He makes great reads and follows through on them with ruthless efficiency. Negreanu makes reads and then doesn' follow through a lot of the time.

Ill agree with allen cunningham, powerful player....

Saw a full tilt million dollar cash game, he laid down a set of 4's when a 3rd heart came on the turn (giving patrick antonius a flush). I was just like whaaaaaatttt, no normal person could have put him on that given the cards on the board.

Tons of other situations too, but that was a suppperb laydown. godly even - saved himself $75,000....

Hey I have unique insight because I've met so many from my days covering poker as press media and attending various WPT events (such as the one I am going to on Friday at Commerce in LA). Here's a quick breakdown. If anyone wants me to post some stories about one of the below just ask.

Mike Sexton : True ambassador to poker. Great guy. Had no clue how to work a DVD player.

Phil Laak : That guy's brain moves at 300mph. Funny guy at the table. TJ told me "Phil is just from a planet we haven't discovered yet" and I think TJ just might be right.

Antonio Asfandiari: Totally LA Persian. Full of himself but decent enough guy.

TJ Cloutier : An intimidating person, but very nice away from the tables, lovely wife.

Dan Harrington : An absolute dead walking corpse.

Dan Negreanu: The total popular kid on the block. pretty nice to everyone, but i wondered just how genuine he really is.

Linda Johnson : Really super nice lady.

Clonie Gowan : Really nice lady, good player, very patient with the fans.

Mark Seif : Total gambler. Gave me a lecture about how much he loves to raise with small wired pairs from anywhere at anytime.

Annie Duke : Seriously maybe the nicest person I've met in the poker world. She genuinely is as nice as she comes off on TV.

Trying to think of others but nothing is coming to mind.

Gabe Kaplan

rofl.. I dunno..

In a hand on the last PAD

Gabe has A9s
Doyle has AQs

Flop comes BlankQ9

Gabe bets, Doyle raises(I think)...

Gabe: "I have A9, what should I do?"
*Doyle makes a folding motion*

If I had to pick five to play against it would be Clonie, Annie, Daniel, Jesus and Phil Hellmuth.

Tom Mc Evoy is really brilliant at the table and nice to fans (really). He needs to calm down a little when faced with a computer and me...but other than that; he's a great player.
