technologies for leading online poker games?

:hello: Hi – I am doing a report on online poker sites. Does anyone out there know answers to any of the following? Thanks
in advance:
What technologies are the leading online poker games written in? Most
are downloadable executables but what is that client application
written in? What technologies are used on the other layers of the
architecture such as the server database, broadcasting technologies
and middle tier business layer?:)

Many sites offer a Java client, or the downloadable client (which I would guess is typically written in C++ or VB). There needs to be a database behind the game, which is usually either Oracle or MySQL.

Check the "Corporate" or "About Us" part of each poker site. Most will say what third-party designed their software and you can look up the name and go to their site for more technical info. Then you might even be able to email them and request a spec sheet, like the kind they give to prospective clients. Good luck!

And even try e-mailing the sites. They should respond within a couple days at the most.
