its a real cool website, but does it help your poker game enough to be a member?

I believe you can use it a few times (a day?) without being a member. Try that for a while, if you find it helps you--become a member.

Neither is completely accurate. For folks who never play in private games they both do a pretty good job, but for folks who do private games, the stats are misleading. Neither apparently can get the results from a private sng or tourney. Either that or they don't try.

In my case they will show I 've had a few bigger wins, but probably still show me as break even give or take a bunch. However, neither shows that over the past year my br (directly related to my ITM's) has grown, making me an above break even player. That is because of the private games I sometimes do well in.

Both SS, and OPR will give you more info than you had before you inquire, but you need to take that info cautiously.

Well to use it professional, you need to pay for it and the advantage is that you can see the strength of the other players, I guess when you play at low levels, it's not really worth the investment but at the higher stakes it's good to know some background of the villains.

Maybe officialpokerrankings.com is an alternative to check villains out at the lower tables!

Good luck:smile:

you get 5 free searches each day at sharkscope. i don't play many sngs so it's a free way for me to get some info on my opponents (are the winners or losers). i read somewhere recently pokerstars was not going to support sharkscope.

iv used the free searched to make sure the fish were fish but i also noticed that they can tell you if the person is on tilt, super tilt, or running hot. anyone know how updated this is in terms of time? like is it updated within hours, days, or weeks?

sharkscope can help you somewhat to see if a player loses more than wins but i do not feel it is accurate because it does not count private tourneys nor does it say how you do at the tables i can do good at racking in at tables but seems in tourneys i may not be as good also i would like to know if it counts placing in the money as a win or not
