I'm sorry if there was a thread like this before, i just didn't see it:D

I was talking to freind yesterday and we were talking on how to improve your game, and basically what everybody tell's you is: read books/forums, find licks, train math (like what is 3985/ by 7 people) and so on. But most of us don't have it as a... plan i should say you read some thing here and there(som days 1 hour, some day 10 min). But what would you say what whould be a perfect workout for a person who wshies to be a poker pro.

Most of the guy I talked to devided in to 2 groups(personaly i think #1 is beter):
1- you read and watch VOD's as much as possible while playeing 1-2 tables MTT/SNG. So you just get grip of the game.
2- You devide you time.(this is aprox.) 20min-ICM trainer,10min-counting training, 1hr-reading pokerforums/books and other stuff. The rest of the time you will play from 30 min to 12hr.

What's you take on this :D

I divide time, except during 8-game when I have to RTFM while playing.

Haha I know this sounds very nerdy but a lot of the time I play Heads-Up for a higher stake than normal... If I win I can play again and if I lose I go run a mile, and then try again :p

I choose to divide my time between studying and playing, because if im playing that needs my 110% concentration. I need to see what the table is doing and there are a lot of things that odds calculators cant tell you that just from a few glances you could pick up on somebody!

I usually just play and don't study until I go on a downswing.

Go to the gym on a regular schedule. Hire a trainer to get a start.

I recently have found it really important to split your time up. Time Management + bankroll Management = good poker player. I play MTTs/SnGs on Bovada, I have a full time job and a wife/friends. I just started playing online agin and and spent the last month and some change building a bankroll from $40 to $350. I neglected my job, friends, wife, and life. All I did after work was play and at work all I did was study. Well I took my bank roll down to $3.47, yep.... I took two days off of work and lost it all trying to make a run, playing when I was board with no BRM. Stupid stupid stupid lol. Its all good with me though. I learned a lot over the last month about poker and life.

My new schedule:
~Play only three days a week and stick to my BRM(Monday, Wednesday and Sunday)
~Study Poker for at least one hour every day(book, forums, Videos, PT4) Im lucky in a way because Im able to do this at work but in return I do some studying for work and try to learn something new( I work in the IT ). The days I don't play I do extra studying at home.
~Work out 2 days a week at least. Usually some cardio for an hour after work. I try to do this on my days off from poker. The days I get to play I'm so excited I just jump right in as soon as I get home.

So far this has been working out a lot better for me however it has only been two weeks. Im getting my bankroll back up slowly with out rebuying. I'm back to $40 and waiting on a nice $2 MTT bink.
Good luck out there

Play or study. Doing both at the same time is sub-optimal. People don't actually multi-task nearly as well as they think they do.

I think it's important to do both (not at the exact same time, of course).

The problem with only playing is that you can be repeating the same mistakes over and over with no chance of correcting them. Sometimes your experiences can validate bad play and it's only by reading and trying to understand that you can recognize these mistakes and improve.

The problem with only playing is that it's hard to retain the purely theoretical. It's easy to get lost in too much theory. It's when you apply the theory that you gain understanding.

How you can play and study (some hand history or strategy) in same time? Youre just not giving 100% on both then, thats my opinion :)
