I was so pumped a couple of years back when World Championship Poker for the PS2 came out. I thought that it was going to be a great way to get my poker fix in when I wasn't putting money in online sites. Of course, it wasn't. I also bought the World Series of poker game for the PS2, which was a TON better, but still didn't give me a fix. What are your thoughts on this? Are there any ones out there I don't know about that are good? Or do you agree with me in saying it's just not the same?

I deffinately think that poker video games will never compare to playing online with real people. Plus why pay money for a game when you can just download it from the internet and play freerolls or cash games.

i also thought it would be a good way to keep me from playing online and also help my game but i could never get into it as it didnt give me the same satisfaction of playing online. if i were going to be practicing my game i would much rather be playing at play money tables online anyway.

Why bother paying for a game when you can play freerolls for free and have a chance to win real money?

What about Stacked for the Xbox? I've seen that at gamestop for pretty cheap and since I love Daniel neg. I thought I might give that one a shot.

I actually really dug Stacked (ps2 version). The opponent AI is licensed from Poker Academy & is actually really decent. It will try to to bluff if it senses weakness, fold if it thinks it's beat, bet's it's good hands, occasionally slowplays it's better hands.... in short, the AI is better than a lot of the donks I've run into playing low limits online. Granted, it's still not like really playing for money, but it's deffinately the best poker video game I've played to date. Considering how cheap you can pick it up for used nowadays, it's well worth the money if you're still playing on PS2 or XBOX (360 pwns!!!!).

I've played a handful of poker video games hoping to get the same satisfaction as real play. I learned that poker is actually a boring game when you're not risking something. Or, maybe I'm just too much of a gambler for my own good.
