I have been pondering the use of a poker bot to assist in clearing bonuses and qualifying for tourneys. Any suggestions.

Bots are banned on every reputable site, so why would you want to risk getting caught with one and losing your deposit in order to clear a bonus that is going to be less than that?

In my opinion bots are unethical and should be banned. I think if you cant play the game yourself then you don't even need to bother logging on period. Thats just my opinion though you can take it for what its worth. Good Luck.

I know basically nothing about bots, but aren't they over-agressive and easily exploitable? From what I've heard some people have cleaned out bots pretty easily. Just play the money yourself.

Back in 2005, there were lots of bots around and so it was claimed some of the sites with $1000 freerolls were using them to skim off the big bucks to reduce their outflow.
TODAY, marks 3 years I been reading posts here, actually joind a few months later. It has been informative and entertaing.
I wish everyone a successful '09

Bots don't chat, and since this is cardsCHAT, we wouldn't know anything about any individual bot, cause, well...they don't chat!!!!!

doh!

This is insulting to any poker player that has put any work into his game. I hope you find your bot, I wanna clean it out.

the math of poker situations is not that complicated, you could write down the odds for outs if you are having trouble. pot odds also are not that complicated take everything to next even number if you need too. counting your outs can on some boards be difficult depending on the hand you put your opponent on, but thats why you need to be paying attention and not relying on a program to do it for you. i wouldn't even consider it myself.

people play against bots all the time and dont recognize them. Some are pretty obvious. ub and ap were full of them before the merge and they are starting to come back. Full tilt has got them tho i dont play there much. They play by the book and trow in some changes to their game from time to time but usually bet the same way all the time. They can really murder you in an sng tourney. Kind of wish i had not asked about them and i understand peoples anger. I do not use one and will probably never will. Just curious about the people who do. Dont think any one would dare admit to usinging them they would get pounded by post.

They can really murder you in an sng tourney if you're the kind of player that had no hope of cashing anyway.
FYP A truly decent* human player will be able to beat all the standard bots out there whether your recognize it was a bot or no

*Note I say "truly decent" because there are a lot of players out there that think or swear that they are great players and they aren't.

I would not even consider using a bot. There is too many risks involved and if you even like this game a little bit and want some success you need to know how to play yourself and a bot does not teach that.I want to be proud of learning how to play for myself not with the help of some computer.

Well people think using bots is a good idea, well some people do, but the point in poker is not just making money like a bot does. It's about enjoying poker and having fun getting the card you wanted on the river, having a bad beat, all of those things that make poker so interesting. A bot just makes money but you playing poker you can make money and still enjoy the excitement of poker.
