Online Poker boom

Are you for or against this sudden online poker BOOM.

Because I don't play for real money at the moment it doesn't really matter for me because I just play free-rolls. But has the boom brought a increased number of fish to the poker world. Or have things just become more difficult?

i love the boom; brings more amatuers and money to the tables. not calling myself an expert but that there are a lot people who think they are top dog and come online and if you can catch the fish they can be profitable

It's great for poker in general. But it's not so good for all the other great poker variations outside of No Limit Texas Hold 'Em. Everyone is flocking to the tables to play Hold 'Em because of the tv exposure. And Hold 'Em's a great game! But there are so many other great poker games that the vast majority of poker newcomers have barely heard of, much less tried. It's discouraging to go to the poker sites and find no players at the 7-Card Stud or Hi-Lo or Draw tables, but they're 4 deep on the waiting lists for NLHE.

As a convert to the game via watching the WPT myself, I've got to say that I'm lovin it.

I used to play a game called Manilla (32 card deck, 2 hole cards & 5 community cards turned over 1 by 1) but haven't been able to get a game for years.

Holdem is a great game, the internet has provided a way for us all to play, no matter where we live and the TV games gives us people we can study and emulate and cheer for.

What's not to like?

....oh, by the way, the money isn't bad either!

Easy money..tuff tournaments

I usually play european rooms on cryptilogic and i find that monday -friday once the uk horse racing has finished there are a lot of fish.But generaly i think these are not fish but gamblers who have come over from the sportsbook looking for another thrill.I can usually double up or better within 15 minutes.And the sit and go's at this time of day are quite easy.but weekends it is a totally diffrent site.

Seems like the newbies, like to go all in a lot. I guess that's because they only see the final tables on tv.

But I like it. More players.
