??

I like the top 10%, especially in low buy ins. its frustrating barely cashing and getting such a small percent of your buy in as a prize. Also the dividing up of the prize pool between 20% of the field thins things out quite significantly.

I almost always play the 20% structure because I can make the money so often and still have a chance of going deep for the bigger money. Maybe I should reconsider this though, mincashes won't get you anywhere. Aren't mincashes in 10% tourneys about the same but with a faster escalation towards more money at the end?

I prefer the structure of prizes of 20 %, as says D'wilius gives margin to obtain prize easier and to fight for the first positions; the problem that I have with structure 10 % that many players throw in suicidal adventures to have a great stack to be able to enter to the prizes and this distorts normal development of game even in final phases of tournaments.

I like the 10% alot more, there isnt realy any diffrence in the money if u just mini cash but if u get to the final table every place pays alot more.

if its a smallfield MTT, then 20%, because those last longest and u want to make it into the money.

if its a largefield MTT, then 10% is fine because in those the action moves much faster before 10% of the field are left.

Based on my ITM calculations I should prefer the 10% style because I make it so much more so then i would be able to make more of a profit. but those stats are probly padded by the 20% payouts.
I'm gonna vote for the payout that doesn't exist- 15%

I prefer 10%

I dont see the point in only winning you buy back and maybe plus extra 30%.

obviously more places paid gives you better odds of cashing, but if the payout barely covers your buy-in whats the point...

a typical pokerstars tourny where18-20% of field cashes.....they barely pay 50% out over final table
if you finish middle of the pack of players who cash you about double your buy-in after deducting tourny fee.... play a heads up and do the same without having to get by hundreds of players and wasting 4 hours

a tourny should pay out top 10% of entries..

tourny should pay minimum of 40-50 percent of prize pool out over first 3 places
1st 20-25%
2nd 12-15%
3rd 8-10%

and another 20 - 25% paid out over rest of places at final table......spread the remainder out amongst the rest of top 10%

right after the bubble in almost any tourny theres always some that let loose as soon as they cash ......

but more so in the tournies that pay more places with tiny prizes is where the "suicidal adventures" you speak of take place.......right after the bubble you have another mini donkfest, just like at the start of the tourny.....

because so many places pay, prizes are small.....and it doesn't really matter if you go out in 87th for .50 cents or 35th for .60 cents...

Depending on which site you play, the payout structures differ, what does not however is "grouping", this is where for eg. in a 3000 player tournament @ 20% places 200-150 recieve the same prizemoney, it may take another hours play to get to 150 from 200 they should not pay the same. Prize money should increase foe every place one your ITM. Another annoying thing is the final table payouts, eg AP 75k weekly, 9th $1288.80--1st $20,137.50 crazy IMO.

I prefer the 20% structure. My biggest grief with the 10% structure is they put too much money in the final table. The final table usually has an overrepresentation of players who played suicidal early on with lots of grand all in battles. These players coelese their chips into some who march on towards the final table wielding the big stack. Online tourneys should not pay more than 20% to the winner in large fields, nor more than 40% to the final table. Thats one thing I like about the CC freeroll at UB. The payouts are pretty flat, with top prize only 7 times the smallest payout.

Play to win, 10%. Any online pro will tell you 20% is just a rip off to their expected profit.

I would prefer 15%.

The typical REBUY will pay more than 10% and less than 15% with the average at...??? you guessed it...12.5%
