ofcourse all poker players need goodluck..but for him to accomplish all he has, he is also a very good playerWhat do you think of Moneymaker, was he luck or was he an expert?
Excellent statistics! Moneymaker is a good player!I think that Chris has been a decent regular at the moment he qualified to WSOP through $40 satellite. It's known that at some point of time before of that, he did quitted his two jobs, although he still had his debts and concentrated on playing full-time poker. I don't know how good he was, but he putted indeed some work and time in his poker education, when he decide to dive in it professionally. Of course there is always a bit of luck in poker. And even the best of the best have to win coin flips sometimes, but i don't think that his win was a pure luck of somekind of donkey, who has no idea how to play poker... Well i mean it depends.. of course if you put Moneymaker on a table with Phil Ivey and i don't know Jungleman, durrrr.. His play can look a bit poor and those guys would make him a real hard times for sure, but it doesn't mean Chris is so bad, it's simply top-highroller field, where he plays pretty often is too hard. But comparing to the average regs, i think he is pretty good player. Simply look at his graph here:
The guy made not only his $39 to $2,5M, but he made his $2,5M to $3,7M and never been down really since his win in 2002 and still play on highest limits till today. Obviously he is not a lucky fish, who just hit the stars once.
Chris Moneymaker is poker history period. The battle between Sam Farha and him are incredible footage. Moneymaker had some huge bluffs and was lucky. It proves that anyone can win on any given day!
